What is beauty for Spaniards?

As I said, this is a study conducted by Kuo Experience for L'Oréal Spain in which it is about understanding what beauty is in the 21st century. Thus, for the elaboration of this study, 1,009 Spaniards (507 women and 502 men) with ages between 18 and 75 years have been interviewed, establishing quotas according to sex, age and geographical area with the aim of obtaining a sample representative.

From the data obtained it is striking how 70.8% relate beauty to naturalness, followed by concepts such as attitude (59.3%), the subjectivity (58.3%), the multisensory (not only visual, but perceived through all the senses) (54.7%), culture (53.6%) and the inner beauty (50.5%). This reality is explained by the sociologist Pilar Parra, from Kuo Experience and director of the study with the following words:

Spain is leaving behind the superficial society of the 'outward' and begins to perceive a beauty with soul and soul. The 'deep-in' movement and inner beauty are gaining enormous strength in the present. It is a paradigm shift that has consolidated in 2017 but that began in 2008 with the crisis, when all our values, including those of beauty, began to transform. But be careful, because there is more because if we ask the Spaniards where they find happiness, they also identify her with nature, besides that people associate beauty to the beautiful moments of their life. That place is followed by others in which we find beauty such as the family (26.6%), the art and culture (26.5%), the individual well-being and self-esteem (26.3%), the music (23.7%) and the friendship (22%), and finally the most physical aspects like the body (19.4%), the face (18.3%) and the sex (15.1%), which are relegated to the last positions.

Men and women have similar conceptions of beauty

Beauty by ages
